Brown Fall Makeup

I feel so glamorous with this look. I love fall because that means the rich browns and dark purples are in. This is one look I can always use if I'm stuck on what kind of makeup I should that day. This look is really simple, the products I used were:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in milk
-Too faced eyeshadow in glamourzon
-MAC Eyeshadow in sable
-Too faced eyeshadow in sugarcookie
-Loreal carbon black liner intense
-Too faced lash injection mascara
*** I also have false lashes on the outer corners of my eyes. This is totally optional. The look is still gorgeous without them.

Step 1: Put eyeshadow insurance all over the eye area. Then put the NYX pencil all over the lid, use your finger spread it evenly. Its okay if you go slightly above the crease.
Step 2: Apply glamourzon to the inner half of the eye lid then apply sable to the outer corner. Use a small brush to apply sable to the outer corner of the lower lashline.
Step 3: Apply loreal eyeliner close to the top lashline. Then apply mascara.

Spider Web Nails Part 2

I love these nails! The orange version was cute but I feel a little more comfortable sporting thses ones. I can't take all the credit though, after my sister saw the first ones she said she wanted them in white. I wanted to test them on myself before I did her nails. This just goes to that your inspiration can come from anyone. First my husband, then my sister. Inspiration has to come from somewhere. What inspires you?

More Halloween Nails! Spider Web Style!

I'm not really sure why but I am really loving halloween this year! This is another halloween inspiration. My sweet husband picked out the orange color from the halloween section at walmart (haha it was cute!) and then I got the Sally Hansen black nail polish pen. He told me that purple nails were not very halloween-ish. So i thought i'd humor him with black and orange. Let me tell you, free-handing those spider webs were somewhat of a challenge but it was worth it. I was so proud of the outcome! Enjoy!

Bloggy Boot Camp!

I am so excited! I just bought my bloggy boot camp ticket for Nov. 13th in St. George. I'm going with my big sis, its going to be a fun weekend. I have come to find as I get older I love learning. I just wish I would have realized this in high school. I can't wait to learn all I can about blogging! Before I found aveda I was an english major, I wanted to be a writer. The fact that I can incorperate beauty into writing is the best of both worlds. Nov. 13th can't come fast enough!

Fun Halloween Makeup

This makeup is inspired by Halloween. I wanted something to get me in the spirit of Halloween but I didn't want to go too over the top and end up looking like a clown. -Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-NYX Jumbo pencil in Black bean
-BHCosmetics Shimmer eyeshadow palette (purple, green, and highlight)
-Loreal Carbon black lineur intense
-AVEDA eye definer in black orchid
-Too Faced lash injection
-MAC powder blush in well dressed
-Hard Candy sheer lip shine in scoop

Salon Wars!

On Saturday, The Aveda Institute of Provo was lucky enough to participate in Salon Wars. There is no real prize but the winning salon gets bragging rights of being the best salon in Utah for the next year. The salons that were in the show were already considered more of the high end salons around. So as an institute we felt very privileged to be there competing. Even though we didn't win, I feel as if I walked away with a prize. I walked away having learned so much about fashion, synthetic hair and what you can do with it, I even did makeup on a real model. I feel like that is not something you can get out of a text book. This is the reason I wanted to get into the beauty industry. For it to happen as fast as it did amazes me.
